The Place is a not for profit, community interest building, developed through lengthy community consultation. Supported and funded by ACW, TGP and NCH. Located at the heart of Newport City Centre, the multi-functional art and community space, has been transformed by Tin Shed Theatre Co and a number of artists and organisations. 

 

Driven by a circular economy framework, The Place is driven by the funds and hands that support it. All funds are reinvested to support the ongoing activities and running costs of the building and to pay for a team of freelancers to run the joint.

At The Place, we have a number of artist studios, workshop spaces, meeting spaces, wellbeing studios and more, all for hire, supporting creatives in Newport and sorrounding areas, with co-working facilities and networking opportunities.

The Venue - a performance and workshop space, open and bookable

The Livingroom - A welcome space that's young people built and led creative space and co-working hub, open to all.

Wellbeing Room - A sensory and well-being room. With regular holistic workshops but acting as a place to rest and reset.

The space is bookable by individuals and groups, open to all who walk through the door.

Artists in Residence - a number of artist's studios hosting a revolving door of creatives and artisans from across Newport City.
